why recruiters aren't finding you any candidates

Hiring the right employee is more than just surveying words on paper. There are many calculations as to how this person will fit into your workplace. However, unlike a mathematical equation, thoughtfulness and care are paramount when hiring the ideal candidate. Recruiters cannot solve this equation because of their impersonal approach, lack of investment, and inability to see the overarching goal of your business.

Recruiters are in it for Themselves

Kickbacks are wildly accepted in the world of recruiters. Thus the best candidates go to the highest bidder and only sometimes to where they are best suited. Often motivated by the money  from the placement of candidates, recruiters want to keep their jobs by patching holes rather than finding the best fit for a company. Recruiters are not thinking about this overarching theme when they find you potential candidates; they are thinking about the bottom line- money.

Mistrusted By JobSeekers

The word recruiter almost feels taboo and doesn’t give off the best vibe to those pursuing jobs. Jobseekers know that recruiters are paid for the number of positions they fill. Recruiters send mass emails to those seeking their services, leaving many looking for jobs feeling annoyed after receiving notifications regarding jobs they are either over- or under- qualified for. They also recognize the lack of personal attention received via recruiters because of this questions go unanswered, leaving job seekers to feel amiss.

Finally, recruiters have no real authority in hiring. They can send the best candidates for interviews, but they cannot guarantee them a job. This again leaves candidates disheartened by interviewing for positions they do not receive.

Most Recruiters Aren’t Really Recruiters

This point may seem a little confusing, but most recruiters aren’t in it for the long haul. This job is just a means to an end, a stepping stone to a different career. Therefore, they are not completely invested in being the best recruiter possible. Recruitment is very sales driven, making it taxing on the person if this is not a job they see themselves in the long term.

Recruiters are Not Career Coaches

Recruiters are not career coaches; they offer little in terms of guidance as to where the candidate would fit best. They are not looking at the big picture but simply a means to an end. Because they have no personal connection to either party, they are unconcerned with how the candidate will fit into your organization. Nor are they interested in coaching you on why type of person will suit your needs.

Seamless Workflow

When hiring, your ultimate goal should be to create a seamless workflow. The best way to do this is to ensure your employees complement each other’s skills. There may not be a perfect candidate, but there is an ideal candidate for you and your business. Filling this void with the best possible match is crucial. Recruiters often aren’t aware of these needs and the intricacies of formulating these bonds.

Create a Work Family

Recruiters lack the personal connection to connect the dots among employees’ personalities for optimal workplace productivity. If your employees care about each other, they care about where they work, and their overall commitment is more substantial. Relationships among staff should feel like family. Employees lean on each other to pick up and fill in when days get tough as well as celebrate and appreciate each other’s accomplishments. They want the best for each other and, thus, for your business.

At the end of the day, recruiters are not part of your work family. They are not concerned with what is the best approach for your overall business simply because they do not have the time and resources to take a personal investment in your business. Hiring the best candidate takes diligence and an understanding of the connection among staff. Recruiters only know the paper version of your office. They are not invested in the day-to-day hustle. Therefore, they cannot find the ideal candidate for you.
